Dua Lipa is known for her diverse fashion choices, from wearable styles to more daring ensembles (remember that tiny crochet bikini?). However, her latest outfit, particularly her choice of footwear, might not be for the faint of heart.
The singer kicked off her week by sharing a series of photos from an impromptu evening photo shoot that showcased her bold heels. In the first picture, Dua struck poses on the ground while donning striking black 7-inch platform boots from Marc Jacobs, known as the Kiki platform boots. She paired them with a matching black-and-white minidress, also from the same brand. Completing her look were trendy black squoval sunglasses and elegant silver Tiffany & Co. earrings. Dua wore her brunette hair down with a middle part, adding an element of simplicity to her ensemble.
Additional slides featured the star embracing her newfound height, gripping a wooden wall while playfully lifting her dress's already short hemline. She continued to flaunt her striking heels while posing on the ground with her legs elegantly stretched out in front of her.
Captioning the post, Dua humorously wrote, “The higher the heel, the closer to God.”
Dua Lipa isn't the only celebrity to take these towering boots for a spin since their release. Notable figures like Nicki Minaj, Kate Moss, Kendall Jenner, and Irina Shayk have all embraced the ‘new boot goofin” trend, adding over 7 inches to their heights over the past year.
More recently, Kim Kardashian sported these platform boots in an optic white color when starring in Marc Jacobs's Fall 2023 campaign. In the campaign images, which were unveiled in August, the SKIMS founder posed atop oversized balloon letters. She paired the boots with a black corset top, a leather skirt, and, of course, sky-high heels, all complemented by matching white ankle socks.
